Zia Husbands

Zia Husbands grew up on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, and began her professional dance training at Brent Street in Sydney before moving to London to complete a BA (Hons) at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

Zia has toured the UK with Ballet BC performing Crystal Pite ‘Frontier’ repertoire, performed with Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company under the direction of Ioannis Mandafounis, and Stephanie Lake Company under Stephanie Lake, as well as appearing in BalletBoyz’s dance film performing Holly Blakey’s repertoire. Zia has also performed as a soloist in Resolutions Dance Festival in ‘TEKOHA’ by Vivian Guyrá and with Classically British & Co. in ‘N.I.S’ by Amari Webb-Martin.

In 2023, she was awarded ‘Most Innovative Choreography’ by Sharp Short Dance. They have participated in secondments and research and development projects with Australian Dance Theatre, Dance Makers Collective, Lunatics and Poets, Faye Stoeser, and Alethia Antonia.

Zia is incredibly grateful to work with Company of Others and looks forward to collaborating on such an emotionally charged piece.
