This September, we’re launching a new project as part of Walker Youth Dance Project for boys aged 8-16yrs. Free weekly dance and movement sessions where young boys can move, try new things and build a supportive team.

Led by professional choreographer Michael Heatley, the group will explore exciting movement activities and styles such as flips, tricks and tumbling.

Experience the athletic benefits of dance and movement like strength, coordination, stamina and resilience, while expressing yourself and being creative. A welcoming space focused on having fun, taking risks and learning new skills.

Day: Wednesdays (From 9th September)
Time: 4:30pm–6pm
Location: The Bricks, Belmont Street, Walker, NE6 3SN
Cost: Free
For boys aged 8-16yrs.
Snacks & refreshments provided.
Open to all levels and abilities. We encourage any boys interested to come along, give it a go, and see if they enjoy it!

Company of Others are inviting women and girls with family connections (for example mother & daughter, grandmother & granddaughter) to take part in a new, gentle and playful dance theatre project called HELD.

This opportunity is for families who are People Seeking Sanctuary, have lived experience of displacement, and/or are from the Global Majority, living in Gateshead, Newcastle or Stockton.

Led by our Artistic Director Nadia, workshops take place throughout the year. These workshops will be fun, welcoming and a chance to come along see if you enjoy it. No previous experience needed.

The call-out is available in Arabic, Bengali, English, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Pashto, Tigrinya and Urdu. Interpreters will be available for the workshops.
