Crackle. Dust. (2019)

Crackle. Dust. is a Co-Created dance theatre production with 300 self-identifying women from across the North of England.

It shares their experiences of endings that have had a life changing impact through movement, live sound and spoken word. The show is a poetic unveiling of women’s resilience, a call to action for us all to listen more carefully and a sharing of power.

Performed by an exquisitely diverse ensemble of 7 female performers Crackle. Dust. witnesses and celebrates the silence breakers, survivors and the hopeful in our region whilst remaining universal.

In preparation for our 2019 tour of Crackle. Dust. Artistic Director, Nadia Iftkhar spent 3 weeks in August, exploring the methods we will use to share the experiences of women from across the North in our final production.
This film offers an insight to the work and our co-creation method.

Crackle. Dust. is supported by public funding through Arts Council National Lottery Grants with additional commissioning support from Arc Stockton, Dance City, GemArts, Kala Sangam and Newcastle Culture Investment Fund.

With special thanks to the women who have shared their experiences with us in order to inform the work.
