Molly Hodkinson is a freelance dance artist based in Newcastle upon-Tyne. She studied Dance and Choreography at Northumbria University and during this time she travelled to New York to train with Risa Steinburg at the Limon Institute.
With 10 years of professional dance experience she has work with many companies including Dodgy Clutch, Surface Area Dance Theatre, Appetite Dance Productions, ZENDEH, Lo-Giudice Dance and State of Grace. She has recently been part of Neville Campbell’s research and development for a new piece with an all female cast.
As well as performing, she has a keen interest in developing her own choreography and was selected for a commission from Dance City to create a full length work in May 2014.
Her first encounter with Company of Others was in 2013, where the beginnings of her solo for The Sense of an Ending was researched and developed with Artistic Director Nadia Iftkhar. The solo has undergone further development upon receiving life stories from regional women. She found this a humbling and inspiring process and thinks it is an honour to represent these women and their precious experiences.
